Ranae Rose - A treasured friend over the pond:)

Since joining the self publishing world I've had many authors welcome me into their matrix, ad platforms, from blog hops to review sites their pearls of wisdom have been most helpful. We're all quite different in style and genre (apart from love, romance and steamy sex) but our common ground is full of aspirations, fight for your dreams, do it yourself and chase those sales, so you can continue to do what you love. I was astounded by the sheer moral support my fellow authors gave to me, yes we're basically in competition (ladies are so much nicer about it!) but we don't care we love to share and work as"Ood" sometimes  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ood.

Alexander The Great

Whilst I was setting up my Fighting Love comp another author friend of mine set up his own which I was luckily enough a winner of. I look forward to reading my copy out loud and with outrageous character voices with all the children around me which grace my life. For the second book cover I ran a competition for children, inviting them to design a cover based on the synopsis. The local paper ran an article on the competition and it went into the local libraries and schools.
The response was fantastic and it was difficult to pick a winner. Finally I chose the one pictured, drawn by Matthew Woodcock who was thirteen.

Net-A-Porter's Speccy Nation

You'd be forgiven if you thought this was a homage to the fashionable spectacle wearers of this world. Yes that means your head is reeling in the aftermath of guilty Net-a-Porter purchases after a few glasses of wine on a Friday night...

"Oh I think I can still carry that off, what's a wafer thin lace-trimmed angora play-suit with jellyfish prints got to do with age?! It's designer, the tailoring alone will obscure any lumpy bits that pilates hasn't obliterated yet!"

Well no, this is a book by a friend of mine (sociology and computer studies would have been such a dull affair without his witty notes during lectures to keep me, awake, sharp and thoroughly amused!) about the "ZX Spectrum" era of computer games. Dan is an expert in the history and you'll definitely have a hoot along the way if you can avoid "Pac-Man" and keep "Jet-Set Willy's" credit afloat!
I hear Jet-Set Willy shacked up with Mickey Rourke in the 80's, I wonder if Dan has a before and after pic - "Where are they Now?" photo op! And Pac-Man put on a load of weight after eating all those DOTS he thought were low-fat. He's about to go on Dr. Phil to talk through his Dot issues;) Apparently the Doc is qualified for that one!!!
