DENMARK - TAX JUNKIES

Penalised with or without children, how about if you had baby giraffes?!
http://bbc.in/1gz0Vh9
My Danish friends are still in disbelief.

RARE BABY GIRAFFE NOT UP FOR DK SLAUGHTER!

Tuesday, 18 February 2014

It was heart-wrenching CPH Zoo didn't take the offers to house the young giraffe, their PR machine was closely akin to Freddie Kruegar's comeback party.

Sure, Danes are pragmatic and open, even commendable of how realism is at the heart of bringing up their children... but when the world is watching... doesn't do much for your "happiest people in the world" label (because you like live slaughtering),  let alone your tourism reputation. Surely when you see the plight of the giraffes survival you would keep as many alive as you can. Isn't it enough we've concreted our way over thousands of species, wildlife and mother earths sanctuaries.

So here's a good story for you, maybe CPH Slagter-hus oh (sorry Copenhagen Zoo) will think differently next time.

May the most humorous side win and try not to eat a baby giraffe in the stands! Grrrr stop Jylland from following suit. You can do it... win some favourable PR back
  1. Lizzy Yarnold goes for GB's first Sochi gold from 15:40 GMT on BBC

COPENHAGEN GIRAFFE KILLED, NOT COOL DENMARK

UK v DK - Pace of Life

Tuesday, 30 July 2013

Both countries have so much to offer, but when I look at " the young mother stressed out friends" I'm leaning towards Denmark, why be penalised for having children. Some Mums just work to try and cover childcare? The meaning of that UK... is? Hmmm not really beneficial for anyone or society.
So is it more something stinks in the state of the UK?

DENMARK TO UK IN RECORD TIME!!!

Saturday, 22 December 2012

That record was not the speed and ease of Felix Baumgarters, no quite contrary. Sitting on a runway for the near entirety of the actual flight time and the welcoming committee of "FIRST GREAT WESTERN." If there are any marketing people about please pitch to the "OH SO WISE executives of this ******* rail operator" about their NAME.
1) Never first
2) Never Great
3) And definitely not travelling West

MAYBE

1) WHENEVER
2) SHITE & STANDING ROOM ONLY (strike that PRESSED AGAINST A RANK TOILET if you're lucky)
3) STATIC TRAVELLING! The New Vogue of train journeys in UK!

+ at those prices I would expect a goodie bag and a massage.

BAH HUMBUG, well I had to have a Dickens moment!  TOOK 12 hours, for goodness sake I could have been in the Maldives in that time.

Maybe Ebenezer just saved his pennies for public transport and partook in a few journeys, so who can blame his attitude after that little experience!

A Lovely Japanese Evening with lovely people, TAK!
And this was just the hallway to the loo's!

EUROVISION comes at a price! Is it worth the sacrifice?

Friday, 14 December 2012

I love arriving in Denmark, their national news usually so local and mild compared to the rest of the world.
My Danish friends always say "Welcome back to civilisation!" although they're the quickest to lap up the cheap air tickets for London's shopping!
The Danes and the English do get on well, the sense of self deprecating irony exaggerating into a wealth of Python-esque homages when the 2 races meet. Much fun we have appreciating the blacker comedy of life!
I pick up the Copenhagen Post at the airport and read all about what's going on in the land of Lego and pastries before I reach my Danish fellows.
This article is priceless... Eurovision only taken seriously on the continent! Well it's more entertaining than the Leveson enquiry!

If only all the worlds news had this to be concerned with, what a peaceful world we'd have :)

Monday, 10 December 2012

Typical, just as I pack the last things into my suitcase to visit my Danish Friends before Xmas (Julen)
This happens! http://cphpost.dk/news/national/storm-bearing-down-capital
Rethink packing to include long johns and proper winter boots, have to start all over! And I see Denmark has had it's first wolf in hundreds of years... this will be an eventful trip. Hope the gløgg is at the ready peeps with those yummy œbleskiver, maybe that's why the wolves have come?

Danes have the best version of Mulled wine in the world! Sorry about that didn't mean to sound so Jeremy Clarkson... but repeat and do Clarkson impression- funny.

NAKED MEN v SAS SQUAD

Saturday, 24 November 2012

Where have the days gone when fire, imminent danger or mishap caused the authorities to cordon off an area!
Surely Nakedness isn't a public hazard?
Oooo UK Nanny state!!!!
Denmark's nakedness is the order of the day, no one cares, ogles or finds themselves in hazardous hazards just because a few cheeky things are on display!

Fat Tax abolished!

Monday, 12 November 2012

It sort of back fired, the intentions were good enough. Who doesn't need to be leaner in these increasingly sedentary work environments. But lets face it Danes are taxed quite enough let them enjoy their superb butter like everyone else in the world, they even pay theoretical tax based on if they rented their property out, regardless if they're living there. The butter's still more expensive for them when you pay 25% VAT. I see a butter smuggling racket hitting their shores soon! Give the Danes their butter and see their golden smiles.

Harold Pinter In LegoLand

Monday, 22 October 2012

For the Danglish among us that fancy a bit of "proper" theatre;) Go check this out!
They won't be shouting at you in unpronounceable vowels! Just kidding Lego people, you know your language is what TOWIE is to Shakespeare;) It's not one of the romance languages there's no hiding away from that and how could you when for speed you fart - more of a monty python drinking game of a language:) I can write this quite comfortably as Danes have a terrific sense of ironic humour and they'd be first to admit their mother tongue is like a moss soup to a saffron soufflé! But hell can they make pastry...
Bit of a Foody theme this afternoon. Must seek nibbles now...

BANKSY v TOPCAT

Sunday, 21 October 2012

Copenhagen is under siege from a new type of Banksy... Has TopCat swapped careers? Send me your pics of the Cats if you see them, they're dotted all over the place;)

Danish Bread Supports Breasts--All Breasts!

Wednesday, 10 October 2012

The Danes are never shy about advertising, marketing or packaging at the best of times, but this campaign is just genius.
So My friends in Denmark make sure you get that in for my breakfast in a weeks time and the pastries are in stock.
1 kr. donated from each purchase:) All for the bouncier good!

Bend it like the Danes!

Tuesday, 18 September 2012

I was horrified when I saw this article, the Danes have had this brilliant system (nothing incentivises more than money!) for decades, they were recycling before the word existed. Everyone I know in Denmark recycles without even giving it a thought. Some cut backs are not worth the environmental cost, don't mess with "pants" (that's what the extra charge is called in Danish.) Yes that does leave it wide open to lewd jokes but so does "Fart" and "Slags." Oooh... go on google translate, Danish is quite funny in English!
http://cphpost.dk/news/national/no-more-deposit-no-more-return
Keep your system Denmark and export a few more windmills:)

Love Making Time set up for Parents!

Friday, 14 September 2012

Now I have lived in Denmark and love their matter of fact attitude to everything. They exude by nature practicality, resourcefulness and are painfully honest (you get used to that, it was a shock to a fluffy, flighty English Girl who would go to outer space and beyond for a diplomatic, softly spoken alternative way of broaching a difficult or critical subject) but at the end of the day the Danes make for efficiency at every level, even their dictionary is shorter than the average language (thank goodness Danish is a bit of a tongue twister) and you always know where you are with a Dane... Honest and decisive. That's what Lego does for the mind!
So Denmark have done it again, they've come up with a solution that helps both parties here... Please read this article it's a concept that I think would roll out (no pun intended) all around the world. GOOD ONE DENMARK YOU SAUCY CAMPERS... KEEPING THE NUMBERS UP!
